So this weekends wedding took me back once again to performing the role of Wedding DJ Fanhams Hall, Ware, Hertfordshire. A truely superb venue that gets better ever time i attend. The hospitality from the staff and team their is second to none, and i can’t rate this venue high enough.

All Day Wedding Service

An all day wedding service was provided by myself. My day begun at 12.30pm loading the van, where I then arrive at Fanhams at 1pm. Minimal equipment was required during the day, just a white starlit DJ booth, two speakers and wireless microphones. This was setup in the top left corner of the alcove where it made for a added feature to the superbly decorated room.

Guests were asked to take their seats after the bride & groom welcomed people into the venue with a receiving line.  Next up was the bride and grooms introduction into the beautiful venue. Speeches followed this at 3.30pm with the use of wireless microphones, before guests tucked into the wedding breakfast.

During the wedding breakfast an array of relaxing music was played, from acoustic versions of modern day songs to the rat pack.

Evening Reception

Once the wedding breakfast was concluded the room was turned around for the evenings entertainment. This required everything being moved by myself and additional lighting and equipment being installed. This was completed within 30 minutes and i begun our background music leading upto the cake cutting and first dance at 8.30pm. The highlight for myself during the wedding breakfast was the personalised caricatures. Each one resembling each guests, mounted in a frame. A brilliant idea that can be achieved for about £3 each.

Music

I met Mitch and Louise once at Fanhams, spoke to them about 3/4 times on the phone and exchanged over 30 emails with them in planning their wedding. Mitch was very into his music and was one of the most proactive grooms I’ve met with regards to the music. I could tell he was a keen RnB fan as too were his guests. This so much so that their first dance was aRnB classic. The music flowed extremely well and the dance floor was never empty. The Bride only stopped for a quick bite of the buffet before returning to the dance floor where she spent most of her night with her friends and family. The age range of the guests ranged from mid 20’s through to early 80’s and their were section of music for all. It was a superb wedding which where every detail had been thought out.

First Dance – Childish Gambino – So Into You.

Father of the bride dance – Three Times A Lady – The Commodores.

Music During The Evening Reception

The music requested was a mix of 80’s soul and funk, 80s discos followed by a large section of RnB, modern music. Music that was placed on the do not play list was cheesy dance routine songs.

Finally the final three songs of the evening were chosen by the bride and groom and were :-

Labarinth – Beneath Your Beautiful

All My Life – Casey & JoJo

Time Of My Life – Bill Medley, Jennifer Warnes

Biggest Hit of the night – Flo Rida- Low
