29th April 2017 – Wedding Fanhams Hall, Hertfordshire

This weekends wedding saw me attend Fanhams Hall, Hertfordshire for the wedding of Amy & Nick.

Venue

Tucked away in the Hertfordshire countryside just outside Ware in Hertfordshire, Fanhams Hall is a breathtaking Jacobean mansion offering a refreshing change of direction for conferencing, training, meetings and truly memorable weddings.

The Grade II Jacobean mansion house, carefully adapted to a dedicated venue wholly focused on training and conferencing, together with bespoke weddings, is designed to be different. With an ethos of injecting fun into events, there is a relaxed yet positive and productive environment suitable for meetings between 2 and 130 guests and amazing weddings for up to 200 guests.

With 77 bedrooms and suites, many overlooking our listed gardens, their rooms offer contemporary comfort perfect for business travellers and guests attending events at our venue or in the local area.

Evening Booking

This wedding I was booked from 7pm – 12am. This meant arriving at the venue at 5pm in order to begin at 7pm. A  small over-run of the speeches meant we didn’t actually get into the room until nearly 7pm, so a quick turn around was required. With the background music beginning before 8pm this meant all guests then filtered back into the room onetime for the cake cutting.

The cake cutting took place at approximately 8.20pm followed by the the first dance at about 8.30pm.

Music Requests

The first part of the evening begun with 80s discos moving gradually into the 90s before around 10pm moving to a more RnB, old school vibe before a garage section at the end of he evening. The evening reception was guested by almost 180 people and made for a great atmosphere in the Great Hall.

First danceBetter Man – Paolo Nutini

Final 3 Songs

Closing Time – SemiSonic

Wonderwall – Oasis

Mr Brightside – Killers

Videos

The finale of the evening was celebrated using a confetti cannon, a great addition to any wedding. Please feel free to check it out using the link below :-

What a cracker this was. A high energy crowd encouraged on by a mixture of 70’s, 80’s discos hits leading into 90’s Dance tunes, RnB and Garage. The Bride & Groom requested that no cheesy music be played…..

The night had a full dance floor all night and was a big hit, We had confetti cannons, Led Initials, a Photo Booth supplied by Thegoodboothcompany, videography supplied by Momentsvideos
